The 100-calorie packet contains carbohydrates (maltodextrin and fructose); sodium; the primary electrolyte lost in sweat; and the branched-chain amino acids (leucine; valine; isoleucine) also referred to as BCAAs; which are essential amino acids that are converted to energy in the muscles.
